project

Daadras Foundation.

Daadras began as a grassroots response during COVID-19 and grew into education, relief, digital literacy, and peacebuilding work across communities in Pakistan.

Building education, relief, and peacebuilding through local trust.

01

Built from local trust.

Founded in Lahore, Daadras works across education, technology, social-emotional learning, and humanitarian response. The public Daadras team page lists Umar Zafar as CEO and founder.

Project Salam.

Education as logic-building, self-expression, and institutional trust.

Project Salam page

Project Salam is a research-based, skill-based curriculum for children in partner organizations. It combines first exposure to computers, chess as analytical practice, social-emotional learning, public speaking, creative technology, and mentorship.

The point was not simply to add activities. The point was to make education feel trustworthy in places where formal systems often arrive as discipline before care.

  • Partnered with welfare and community organizations.
  • Expanded from a foundation year into multi-site implementation.
  • Centered self-expression, mentorship, and practical digital literacy.

04

Daadras milestone timeline.

The timeline below follows the organization from its founding charter to a more institutionalized operating model.

Founding charter

Executive Council drafts the constitution: empathy, non-discrimination, youth-led civic action.

The principles that still govern the org.

Project D2D

First project, launched in the adversity of COVID-19: monthly food rations delivered to families.

Immediate relief; the program that started everything and remains active.

Self-Sustainability

Pivot away from dependency through families' existing skills: motorbikes, rickshaws, fruit stalls, sewing machines, medicine, sanitation, and blood-donation support.

Recipients become self-supporting; aid as a stepping stone, not a comfort zone.

Relief at scale

Flood-victim relief; Ramadan iftar drives; orphanage support; book donations.

Reach broadened from single families to communities in crisis.

Salam + partnerships

Project Salam skill-based education curriculum; partnerships with TRN and PSZ; three domains formalized: Dastarkhan, Salam, Research; Campus Ambassador Program; digital/AI adoption; 10K Monthly Challenge.

From relief org to durable institution: education, data, and a national volunteer network.

Institutionalize

Donor Database, digital-rights workshops, and continued programming.

Operational maturity; systems for sustained impact.

05

For programs that need trust before scale.

Reach out for program design, impact storytelling, education-technology strategy, or research that connects field reality to policy design.
